Although it can be challenging to integrate smartphones into the classroom while not letting them be a source of distraction ( Anshari et al., 2017), they are definitely useful for collecting scientific data for both indoor and outdoor applications, due to their design, ease of use, and ability to enhance student learning ( Gutowsky et al., 2013). The use of smartphones as an experimental tool has been neglected in the field of education research ( Kuhn & Vogt, 2013).
